Advice on weather August cruisers

Hi
Now we are totally tied to school hols and would like to do a cruise but a little apprehensive as it’s hurricaine season! I don’t want to feel unsafe ( yes I know irrational!) so ppl that cruise in Aug how do you find the weather. Looking at the Disney Eastern

This year it will be our 10th Disney cruise in August, only once did we have to get diverted because of the bad weather, one year we couldn’t even dock at castaway key because it was to windy. One good thing the ship moves, so if your planned destination is diverted they will take the ship somewhere else.

I’ve been rained in one port during the afternoon and one evening we could see lightening out at sea, plus it rained at sail away, but that was it. Happily cruise in August again.
