Mobile San Francisco to Yosemite in August

Help required please. Roughly how long to drive from SF to Yosemite during August and where would you stop half way for a break and one lunch. Kids (14 and 12) aren't great at long trips so we like to break it up. Thanks

Hi it's a easy drive 4 hours, depending on your route plenty of places to stop. Oakland, Merced plenty of shopping centres beside road .

We did this last year, drive took a solid 4 hours. We stopped off for breakfast at a place that was a woman’s name(Tracey?)which was just off the highway, we went to Denny’s but there were loads of places. As you drive out of cloudy SF you can’t believe how sunny it is elsewhere!

We've done this trip too and stopped off in Sacramento along the way which is a very pleasant place and for interest, the state capital of California

Hi

We are planning a slight detour to Columbia State Historic Park on our journey from SF to Yosemite. Going to try our hand at panning for gold and sample some sarsaparilla at the saloon!

It's around a 2 1/2 hour drive from picking up the car at SF airport and then just over 1 hour to Rush Creek Lodge where we are staying for Yosemite.
