An overnighter fort lauderdale/Miami

Already booked hotel in Orlando for 2 weeks but other half wanting an overnight stay down the coast with the aim of going as far as Miami for something different.

Anyone any hotel recommendations down that coast or areas to consider?

We stayed at the Lago mar in Fort Lauderdale it was 3 years ago though but I loved it there.

Lago Mar Resort is fantastic! Not the cheapest but great beach and pools, and has complimentary valet parking included. The freshly squeezed orange and apple juices at breakfast are lush. We were there at Easter this year, and BA willing we hope to be there again next month.
