Discovery Cove for the Disabled
Hi.
We are going to Florida in May 2004 and have booked to do the Discovery Cove Dolphin thing. I know that we will have to wear DC's wetsuits but my wife is concerned that she will not be able to put hers on without assistance from me (she has severely restricted mobility). Do DC have any 'family' changing rooms where I could help her? Grateful for any advice. lefthanded |

I am sure that an email to them now will clear up any doubts or worries you have. |

Hi lefthanded, just got this of the DC website for you ...
Discovery Cove can accommodate guests with disabilities who are able to maneuver themselves with limited assistance (or with the aid of a personal assistant) during their dolphin experience and in the various wading locations. Discovery Cove also offers specially-designed outdoor wheelchairs with oversized tires for easy maneuvering on the beach. Wheelchairs can be reserved by calling. hope this is of some help jj... |

Thanks for the replies. folks, but it isn't the getting about that concerns us. The problem is specifically changing into the wetsuit. My wife has severely restricted mobility due to osteo-arthritis and even dressing normally is a problem for her - there is no way that she could put on a wetsuit unaided.
I have sent an email to DC - waiting for a reply. Thanks again lefthanded

Just had a reply from DC. They confirm that they can provide a facility where I can assist her.
Problem solved! Why didn't I think of that in the first place. lefthanded
