Is half board dining plan worth it?
We’rehoping To go February half term and staying in Newport Bay. Is the half board plan worth it? We are a family of 4 (boys classed as adults). I prefer to pay up front but want to ensure we’re not paying over the odds. Think the cost is £568 for 3 nights. Thank you.

I am in a similar dilemma but have decided against adding on the meal plan. We're not big breakfast eaters so are happy to just take some snacks with us for that. Then we also like to eat in Rainforest Cafe and Earl of Sandwich so for us it's just not worth paying for a meal plan.
If i were you I'd work out where you want to eat and see if you're likely to get your money's worth out of the plan. |

If you can get it free - absolutely. Check other countries’ offers, there is often free dining.
If not - depends if you eat a big breakfast. Breakfast in NPB is huge but massively expensive. If you want something smaller you can go to EoS, Starbucks, New York Style Sandwiches etc. Or take cereal bars or porridge pots with you.

As Gill said, it really depends how much you like breakfast. Around £10-15 per person per day of that is paying for breakfast, as a dinner or lunch will cost around £35-40pp. Breakfast in the hotel is expensive, so if you definitely would eat a large buffet breakfast each morning then it is worth it.
We took porridge pots, cereal bars, had McDonald’s or earl of sandwich breakfast or just grabbed a croissant from the bakery. It was much cheaper than paying for a breakfast. |

I wouldn’t pay for a dining plan at DLP- instead you could put that amount aside and just eat where you like.
