According to wiki...

“U.S. mail collection boxes were originally painted in red or green. Beginning in 1909, all mail collection boxes were painted a dark green to avoid confusion with emergency and fire equipment.[11] Dark green gave way to olive drab green after World War I, when the U.S. Army donated a large supply of olive drab green paint to the Post Office. Olive drab green subsequently became the standard color for all U.S. mail collection boxes until 1955. On 4 July 1955, Postmaster General Arthur Summerfield announced that the Post Office would begin painting all mail collection boxes in red, white, and blue to make them easily identifiable. Subsequently, the Post Office began painting mail collection boxes in red and blue, with white lettering.[14][15] In 1971 the United States Postal Service changed mail collection boxes to the current USPS Dark Blue with contrasting lettering.[12][15][16] The coming of the automobile also influenced U.S. mailbox design, and in the late 1930s, an extension chute or "snorkel" to drive-up curbside collection boxes was adopted.[11]“

And so onto the no 3 bags.

We are now going to construct the gym which is on the level above the diner:

You can see dumbbells in the top left corner and weights plus a water cooler on the right.

Another character joins us - a boxer and he has a ring to fight in or a punchbag where he can practice:

Windows and columns go in to finalise the walls. One clever bit of construction is the circular fire escape which will lead from the gym door up to the accommodation level above:

The gym floor now fits neatly above the diner:

And so the building rises:

Oh, that boxer doesn't have much room to fight in! And where is his opponent?

Some of the detail:

The short order cook is grilling some steaks. Note the frying pan and cleaver to the left, also the coffee maker:

My favourite - the juke box and those red vinyl seats. Spot the mustard and ketchup either side of the napkins:

And around the back - trash cans:

Did you buy this in the states? Is th3 Lego cheaper there? I remember it was last time I went.

A gym just above a diner...all that exercise would give you an appetite, but the grunting noises from the men upstairs might put you off your burger and fries
