Requesting a room number/type when booked in the UK to WDW
Morning everyone :-)
I have booked my September 2020 solo trip all through Virgin Holidays, and I am staying at the Yacht Club. However, I have looked on the Touring Plans website, and have picked out 4 hotel room numbers I would love to have a chance at being allocated. I know if you book through Disney direct, you have a reference number that they recognise, so can put your request on the system as it were. But what do I do with Virgin Holidays? Does anyone know? I do know that their system does not collaborate with the WDW one, so it would be pointless getting them to add some text onto the booking Or is the only option I've got, to ask upon check-in to the resort? Thank you x

You have your "General" request on MDE - Check-in but this is really just Area & floor, you can fax/e-mail the resort 5 days before check-in unfortunately there are no guarantees - we've actually given up asking!

Faxing or emailing is better than nothing! Do you know where I will be able to find my hotels email address? (I dont have a fax machine lol)

If you have a touring plan subscription, you can fill that fax in, add requests, and they will send it for you
look in your TP dashboard, create a "trip", and it's all in there. |

It shouldn't matter who you book with.
You should be able to link your Virgin Holidays booking to your Disney account (MyDisneyExperience). If you haven't already done so then I recommend you doing so. Then you'll be able to request a general area/location when checking in online. This is the same as for those with a Disney direct booking. Disney direct bookers don't get any additional benefits with regards to requesting rooms. Note that this is just a general request for an area of the resort. It isn't a specific room. It isn't guaranteed. As Shooby Doo mentions, you can also contact the resort beforehand and request a room. Again there are no guarantees. The phone and fax numbers of the resorts are listed below: allears/walt-disney-worl...e-fax-numbers/ If you want to fax rather than call them, then you'll probably need to find an online fax service (unless you have a fax machine?). I think FaxZero is free? I've never used them. Or, yes, you can pay to join Touring Plans and get them to do it for you. Again, this is a request only. You may not get the room you request.

I've only ever done room requests through Touring Plans in the past, though I've also read that you can contact the resort directly to make a room request.
Generally I've had decent success with my room requests, usually get a room similar to what I requested. For my last trip I requested a room in Pop Century and was given a room a few doors down from the requested room, so happy enough with that! That being said, getting a requested room may be a bit hit and miss... so I've also seen that if you're not happy with your allocated room that you can ask for another room. This might involve waiting until the next day though if they are all out of available similar rooms. Not done this myself but have read of other people doing this!
