Just one. When I first got it I thought it looked a little flat as I was used to using big/plump pillows so I put a thin regular pillow under the top two thirds of the pillow but after a few hours I took it out as I didn't need it.

It's subtle but does the job well and it doesn't take over the bed like some V pillows do.

I hope you get some relief whatever one you go for

marks and Spencer do varying thickness pillows, for back, side or front sleepers.

i have a firm back sleep and a medium for side as i am all over at night from side to side to tummy and i layer them so i have a gentle slope

good luck with your pillow hunt
