Gatwick or Heathrow ?

Hi Dibbers

If you had the choice which would you rather fly from to Orlando? Gatwick or Heathrow? Gatwick is further for us to travel to but would stay in a hotel the night before so it would be the drive home at the end of the holiday to consider. We won’t be flying in PE or business class etc so no lounge access.

Interested in your thoughts and opinions.

Thanks

To me it doesnt matter, it would depend on the price. We would usually fly with BA so Terminal 5 at Heathrow at the moment which is comfortable. Was there last week and felt safe and well organised.

Flown from both and if I had to choose it would always be Gatwick.
Heathrow always seems so stressful and hectic, plus I prefer shopping at Gatwick. So Gatwick if all things equal
(But at the end of the day if Heathrow was cheaper than Gatwick I'd not hesitate to fly from there!)

Depends where your starting point is surely?

If you’re connecting in on a plane into one or the other that’s going to be the preference to save transiting.

We come from Devon so have a very strong preference for Heathrow. We have had some horrid journeys by car to Gatwick that have taken seven or eight hours so usually prefer public transport to that.

Heathrow. I prefer the airport and the drive is much shorter for us.

Heathrow. There's a better choice of airport hotels and parking and I prefer the airport. It doesn't look that much further on paper but being closer to home after a long flight is worth a a few extra ££. Sitting in traffic on the M23 and M25 on our journey to the West Midlands after a night flight is a killer.

Heathrow as we prefer to go indirect and there are usually a much better range of options.

Gatwick, because we have only ever flown to Orlando from there and we get the train there and back. Its a simple journey with one change and I dont know if its that easy to/from Heathrow
