Question Cheyenne Rooms Question...

It's more expensive to book a room closer to reception - apart from it being more convenient for some people is there any other advantage to doing this? Like the room being of better quality... etc?

I've just read a trip report where someone stayed at the Cheyenne on two different occasions - once being close to reception and having a really nice clean room and then getting a room quite a distance from reception and the room being in pretty bad shape and quite dirty.

Anyone here stayed a few times and noticed any difference in room types?

Only stayed there once and our room was fine ... think we stayed in the Annie Oakley building which was perfect for us - close enough to nip to reception and for breakfast but far enough away to be a little quieter.

I actualy called the hotel a few weeks before we went and asked for a room in that building - no problem and all sorted.

We've stayed 3 times and our rooms have always been fine. We've never paid extra, and last trip we were in Billy the Kid - 30 seconds from reception, the shop and restaurant; we've also stayed in Coshise and Soaring Eagle, neither of which were too far away.

You'll be nearer reception, the food hall and the shop. And also handy for the bus to the parks. As for Cheyenne generally - it's in a real need of a refurb IMHO which I believe thay are starting this year. Those rooms haven't been done over properly in 2O years.

the rooms are exactly the same, facility and furnishings-wise, regardless of which block you are in at the Cheyenne. I think its just luck (or bad luck) that one room in the pay-extra block was cleaner etc than another room in another block.

Thanks for your replies...

It looks like the rooms are all the same then - so it really isnt worth paying that extra.

Like you said sammykitten... it seems it was just bad luck she got a worse room the second time round... and nothing to do with paying less!

It's only a few minutes walk to reception even from the furthest building. I wouldn't worry.

Yes, it's looking a bit tired and could do with a refurb, but we never had any problems there.
