We have just boed the ramada plaza. They take your car to a secure compound and then when you return you phone them and they bring your car to you at the airport!

2 weeks ago stayed at the Premier Inn north terminal with parking. Really good value. Ideal position right opposite the terminal. Drop off car in the short term carpark 5- valet parking. You hand your keys over then. The car is taken off to long term carpark (checked the mileage on return and it had done less than 5 miles) on return you collect the car from the ground floor carpark 6 opposite the terminal and your off in minutes.
The hotel is clean and comfortable no noise at all. It is a bit of a hastle checking in as the reception floor is on the 2nd floor and the lifts can get busy. I would do twilight check in first to make it a bit easier. We didn't eat in the hotel that evening, went over to the south terminal and ate there. Check out was easy.

Book well in advance for the best deal.

-ve is that you cant drop off your overnight things in the car on the morning of the flight. You need to be careful when booking there are a few Premier inns and the others involve taking the car to the longterm carpark yourself and then paying for the hotel transport

We've stayed at the Ramada Plaza and Courtyard Marriott - both times we've used the Maple Manor Meet and Greet where you get a bus to the airport and then they meet you at the airport with your car when you come back. We really like this option as we don't have to hang around waiting for a bus after the long flight home.

This year stayed at manor royal premiere inn. From memory it was about £110 for a nights stay in the hotel and 15 nights parking in the proper Gatwick long term car park. Thought this was a bargain. Hotel 3 minutes drive from The perimeter of the airport and a Toby carvery just up the road.

We have booked Gable End, Horley for one night and parking and worked out cheaper than driving down on the day and using Gatwick Long Stay which we did last time. Gable End is number one on Trip Advisor for b and b’s in the area and the owners seem really helpful. You car is kept on site and transfers to/from the airport are included.
