AKL Room Refurbs - here now

We were at YC a couple of years ago when they were refurbing, we had similar issues with noise, it was so loud I thought it was in the next room, turned out it was the floor below, it was our last but one day so moving wasn’t an option, I emailed the resort general manager regarding it, one of his direct reports got back to me and we ended up with about $450 being refunded to us

that sounds not good. We are staying at AKL for 1 week in June. I hope it will be not so loud.

We were once woken at about 6am maybe a bit later by workmen above our room at POR. They were working in the loft space possibly on the air con and it was so loud. We weren't at all happy and called reception to say about it and for them to hear how bad it was. I think it was either our last night or the night before last so no point moving but I did get some extra fastpasses and managed to get them to refund us a night. Not what you expect when you've paid so much to be there. Hope you get sorted with a better room/view than has been offered.

Update.

Went and said I wasn't happy with 4545 and they've managed to give us a massive upgrade.

We're now in a 2 Bedroom Savannah View Suite with Club Access. It's incredible, love it when they properly fix things.

The OP should have been informed of the planned work when they booked or if they booked before the work was announced they should have received that information when it was announced.
I have no idea if the OP was informed in this case.

Out of interest is it Arusha Savannah your club room gives you view of? Is it just Kudu trail work currently going on? Wondering whether we are better to request this for August in case Zebra trail work ongoing then, which is where we usually stay..
