For those who know London well

I’m from way ‘oop north and my knowledge of London is terrible/non existent.

There’s a chance I’ll be attending a workshop in November and the building is on Wharf Road.

Can anyone advise on;

Where/what area might be best to stay if I was to go down the night before? I know London hotel prices aren’t exactly going to be low.

What would be the nearest tube station?

I have been looking on google maps but It’s hard when you lack the wider knowledge of the area.

There is a Wharf Rd Islington? looks like Angel is the closest tube (only stop or a short walk from Kings X/St Pancras)

there is a decent premier inn next to the o2 islington & a hilton round the corner

I know it’s stating the obvious, but it’s the O2 Academy in Islington- don’t book anything near the O2 Arena!😂
I know Islington well if you want any restaurant recommendations.

Premier Inn Angel Islington was £78 last month. Their air-conditioning system was broken, may be OK now.
That's 18 Parkfield Street.

Back in June stayed at another Premier Inn closer to Kings Cross. That cost £82.

Download City Mapper. I used this to navigate London whenever we visit. It gives you multiple options to get from A to B, walking, the tube, bus, taxi etc etc. It’s really helpful.
