It's called 'A Sparkling Experience' as per the leaflet. Concierge in DLH has more info if you wanted to ask about it.

Wow this sounds amazing. We are visiting in February half term and seriously tempted. Without sounding like an alcoholic, how much alcohol is included in this package? Is it one cocktail pre dinner, a glass of wine with dinner and a glass of champagne whilst watching the fireworks?

Haha, I was looking all over the leaflet to work out what it was called, and I thought the 'sparkling experience' bit was just a catchy slogan! I was expecting it to have Illuminations in the title. Definitely going to ask about this while we're there!

I know Elodie - I wasn't sure. But there was a poster next to the Concierge desk basically the same as the leaflet so presume it's the same name. I got the leaflet from there too - took a quick snap then put it back!

If it is like the previous version - as many cocktails as you want before dinner (but we only had one) then as much wine as you want - different wines for each course if you want. Then dessert wine and then champagne.

We didn't drink much but certainly could have done!

We have done the previous package twice. First time it was a special menu. Second time it was your choice from the menu.

Do they pretty much hold your hand throughout, making sure you get to the right places at the right times, and explaining how the meal works with food / wine / non-alcoholic options?

I'm so tempted to do this at Christmas - it would be lovely to have a good view of Illuminations without having to stand outside in the cold to get a spot. (We sat on the ground and played games for an hour or so waiting for Dreams in the summer, but I don't fancy that in December!) And it would be better for the girls to just walk back through the hotel to our room afterwards too.

Is it something that books up quickly at peak times? And can you only book in person at the concierge desk, i.e. you can't book before you arrive? Hoping it's worth asking about it at check-in if we decide to do it.

We booked in advance the first time and they had obviously never encountered this before. It took a lot of phone calls and persuading, and I had to scan a picture of my card and email it to them.

Second time we were staying at the DLH on the Welsh Festival weekend in March. We decided on a whim that afternoon to do it that night, booked and paid with only an hour to go!

The invitation says what time to arrive at the bar. They bring you through into the restaurant about an hour later. Then they take you up in the private lift in time for the show.

I describe it in my March 2015 trippie (link in my sig). Sorry for lack of photos, Photobucket has just changed its t&cs and blocked third party sharing.

It said just to book when you are there with the Concierge Elodie. I don't think you'll have an issue getting in especially if you are booking a night or two ahead.

The only issue could be if it's not on! I'm sure the last package wasn't on all the time. Not sure with this one. Why don't you email the DLH and ask?

I didn't see if any one answered the question on dress code.
Having done it twice, dress smart it is a special meal, it is worth dressing up.
