You can clearly see the Linear Induction Motors (LIMs) which power the ride.

They are the white "blades" - they're powerful electro magnets and are almost identical to the system used to launch Rock 'n' Rollercoaster

Hi, just wanted to share, my sister aka TilneyWildcat and her family are in DLP at the mo. There weren't placing much hope on getting near to the opening of the Toy Story Land today, BUT

just had a phone call from her to say;

They got up early and started to queue one hour before the opening ceremony, watched that (lots of cameras there apparantly) then once allowed in went straight to Slinky's ride where they were the first ones on the ride! (she said everyone headed to RC Racer first so they were glad they headed to slinky!)

To say my sister was excited was an understatement! Her DH and eldest DD have also done RC Racer and they were all currently queueing for the soldier parachute ride!

They are really pleased they have managed to get anywhere near the area let alone on the rides - I think James aka Jamel's advive to get there early and hope for the best has paid off.

PLUS to top it off they managed to get on crushes coaster yesterday when they arrived, which they have never managed to get on in all their trips

Did they get any piccies? - there were lots from the AP previews yesterday, but it was throwing it down!

I hope they had better weather today.

Will speak to her later - but I am sure she will have took some - unless she was sooo excited she forgot! She did say it absolutely poured down yesterday all day, but didn't mention it on the mobile when she called (although she was very excited and it was 38p per minute lol)
