Harry potter convention

I was just wondering if anyone was at IOA last year whilst the Harry Potter convention was on? Getting a bit worried that the place while be packed as it is on this year whilst we go to Florida. Got anyone tell me how busy it was.

Ascendio and their “Night of a Thousand Wizards” are returning to Universal Orlando Resort this July 12 through 15, 2012. Ascendio, dubbed as Infinitus in 2010,#is a Harry Potter conference (or convention), and features presentations, music, meet-ups and social events. Their Night of a Thousand Wizards 2 is an exclusive after-hours event at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Night of a Thousand Wizards 2 will take place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 12 in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and will run until 1 a.m. Friday morning. There will be a DJ spinning music, lashings of Butterbeer, podcast recordings and more. Fans will also be able to stroll through Hogsmeade in full costume (a privilege extended exclusively to the event) and have no waits through the queue for Forbidden Journey, Dragon Challenge and Hippogriff.

Ascendio 2012 will take place at the Lowes Portofino Bay Hotel. In addition to the feature presentations, roundtables, special guests and more, there will be a vendor room open all four days featuring, of course, Potter related clothing, merchandise and memorabilia.

Oh dear and we're staying on site those dates - wish we weren't now - it's going to be mobbed!

I was there last year and there was talk of all sorts of HP 'sightings', I have to say, it was busier the year before, (could have been cos Jedward was there ) but that part of the park is always silly busy, US was almost empty though

We stayed onsite last year when it was running and really thankful that we're missing it this time around. The potter fans were everywhere, dressed up in their cloaks, round glasses, wands etc... Even the queues for the transport between hotels and parks were filled with them no matter what time of the day!
