Sorry to hear about your break in, the suites at the All Star Music and Art of Animation are really good, great value and the theming is good for families, no dining plan, but rumour is the Dining Plan finishes next year.

I really don't think it makes any difference whether it's a dibb villa, gated, maned or not, it's no different to this country sadly it's just your bad luck. We've stayed in villas 5 times now in all different areas and communities and, touch wood, never had a problem. Been burgled at home though-not a nice experience.
Fair point, but the difference is that you can ask your Dibb Villa Owner about their security arrangements (alarm, safe, deadlocks etc) before you go.

It is true the world over that most burglaries are crimes of opportunity and that given the choice between a secured home and a less-secured home the would-be burglar will always pick the easiest target with the richest pickings

Therefore the best way to prevent burglary is to pick a properly secure property where valuables are not on overt display.

This is where many holidaymakers often come unstuck by leaving valuables on display. Shutting the blinds when you go out not only helps keep the house cool it also prevents would-be burglars from spotting the ipad left charging in the kitchen.

Regards

Gary
