DDP for part of stay - split hotels?
We are new DVC owners, having always been to Disney with the DDP which we love.
I'm sure when we looked into buying our DVC resale we came across a thread about buying DDDP for a few days of the stay to bank some credits to cover expensive meals - but my memory is a bit hazy! I understand you cant buy DDP for just part of your stay so, is the idea to have a split stay (for example 4 nights with DDP then move to another resort meaning you dont need DDP for the remaining days)? Do your credits have to be used within those first 4 nights or do they carry over for the whole of the stay? We're so used to having DDP and eating at sit down restaurants each evening that we're trying to work out the best way to keep a little bit of that without a huge expense! Thanks so much

Hi. You are right that the DDP has to be applied to everybody on the booking and for the entire duration of your stay. A split stay negates that issue. However all credits must be used by midnight of your checkout day and cannot be carried over to your second booking.
Some people work the system. For example book 7 days at a DVC resort and pay for the plan. Do another 7 days at the same resort without the plan. However you have to hope the front desk allows you to stay in the same room albeit they invariably do. Two references mean the stay doesn't link.

You also have to pay the Us price, $76, not very good value unless you can make it work

Another tip is if you can book 2 studios and split your party, pay for deluxe DDP for 1 room only, enough credits for everyone' s table service.
