How do you know this? We are visiting next February and was hoping to do Universal/Mardi Gras before PD weekend? Thanks

The fact that there is a marathon sayes it all. These were introduced in the quieter periods to fill rooms with discounts for competitors.

Mardi Gras is Shrove Tuesday which is 25th February next year, it is apparently a holiday week in Louisiana so lots of people were over from there last year. Not sure what dates Universal do their Mardi Gras events relative to the actual date

Ah I see, thanks. We're there until the 20th so hoping they start earlier than that! Think they started on 9th Feb this year

Hopefully it will be similar for you next year then so you can go, with Easter being later this year actual Mardi Gras was later on too
