Disney Star Wars Hotel

Hi there,

I was last on this site around 9 years ago when I been with my (then young) family to Disney. Time's flown by any my two little boys are now 14 & 18 and we're thinking of going back! And since I found this forum so helpful last time I thought I'd join back in!

Anyway, one of the primary reasons for going back is my 18 year son who is a complete Star Wars geek and desperate to visit Galaxy's Edge - so we're looking at Easter 2020.

I'm also aware that there are also plans for a new Star Wars themed hotel, but can't find out any details of opening dates etc and if it'll be open by April 2020 - does anyone out there heard anything or know a good source of information? (Disney just say 'no official date yet').

They have literally only just started the groundwork for that, so I would guess youre looking at 2 - 3 years before that appears, outside chance of 2021 but not before. The new space themed restaurant at Epcot may be open next year, it's designed to be like a Space Station with a view over the Earth. That is under construction at present next to Mission Space

Thanks - I thought that Easter 2020 was unlikely, but couldn’t find anything specific. Looks like we’ll just have to go next year and again a couple of years later!

Theres so much being built right now its crazy, though they are hoping most of it will be open by 2021 which is the 50th anniversary of WDW this means things like the Guardians of the Galaxy ride and Ratatouille under construction at Epcot, Tron rollercoaster being built at Magic Kingdom, Minnie & Mickeys Runaway Railway at HS (thats suggesting opening Spring 2020)

These are going to be the hardest rooms to get pretty much anywhere. Ever. They are also going to be a fortune.
