Your preferred car rental company and why?

Alamo
- We never get the hard sell we have had previously at other car rental desks (partially down to the fact we can skip the counter and go straight to the garage)
- Being able to pick your own car
- And as yet have only received great customer service.

Alamo normally booked through virgin, as I dont tend to drive to from the airport and find I dont need a car for the first few and last few days but have a car for part of my holiday while staying onsite and they pick you up and drop you off if your onsite where you want to go. As said previously Ive never been given hard time sales at the desk and last time I got asked what car I drove at home and she got me the same type a Nissan with only 500 miles on the clock

I voted for Alamo, I use the Alamo Brits link so get the 10% discount along with the free driver. The price can never be beaten anywhere I don't find.

I voted for Alamo as over the years we have used the most. last year however we used Dollar. our large party picked up 5 vehicles over 3 different arrivals and we all had really good experience with them. new cars, no hard sell, choice of cars and went and found me a specific model from the thrifty row. only downfall was no skip the counter but I was less than n2 minutes at the desk.
I had no hesitation rebooking with them again this year. their gold package was £100 cheaper than Alamo brits standard package when I booked.

We normally go with Dollar via UsRentacar as the rate are ok with us.

The only very minor issue is that UsRentacar don’t add on Dollar Express no more, so going to the booth in the parking lot is a thing of the past . But considering I’ve never seen a horrific queue at the desks/machines, I think we will cope

Yes Dollar Express ...you have now to be a US customer and book directly with Dollar.
UsRentacar nor any other third party can do it for you anymore

unfortunately still need to book direct with them. last year I got my booking added to my express account at the desk.
