I'd also put in another vote to visit Savannah even if just for a day trip, loved it there.

Thank you , it’s in the plan for an overnight stay with the afternoon before and morning after.

We are all booked ... well for the moment. I found the prices so high . I can’t believe I booked a place that I thought was a bargain because it was less than £200 a night and that’s without any parking or breakfast freebie!
Makes you appreciate Florida prices.

Everything is on free cancellation and I’ve used topcashback with Expedia as well to soften the blow.

We have gone for:

Hampton Inn, Jekyll Island
Sonesta Resort Hilton Head
Francis Marion, king Street, Charleston
Planters Inn, Reynolds Square Savannah

I do hope they turn out to be worth it

Will be keeping an eye out to see if any decent other rates come up but Charleston was something like 85% booked up so pretty slim pickings.
Air bnb and the like were also expensive for one night once cleaning fees and local taxes were added. I couldn’t persuade DH to try the tiny house on the goat micro farm, the houseboat or the luxury yacht

Will add costs etc to the trippy once I’m sure we are sticking with these.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn Jekyll Issland when we stayed there in 2014. The beach there was very long & for the most part completely empty! The Jekyll Island Historic Area was really interesting & the Georgia Sea Turtle Centre is there too, & don't miss a walk on Driftwood Beach. We also stayed on Hilton Head Island & in Savannah. Loved it all!

Looking good Amanda. I can’t believe the cost of those hotels, wouldn’t have expected them to be that high!
I’m sure you’ve seen this restaurant in your research but I’ve come across this most appropriate one for you in Savannah 😬
