I live near and have been to many shows at the Barclaycard Arena.

The first thing to say is the city centre roads near the arena are a bit of a pain as they develop the Paradise Circus area. When you and the other 12,000 people come out of the show it will be chokka! So personally I would park a little further away - even than the Hilton at Brunswick square - because even there it will be still be busy afterwards.

I would go the other side of Broad Street - depending on where you are driving back to after the gig.

And Primark, New Street and the Bullring are all within easy walking distance

It is walkable, we have annual passes with merlin so often walk between the city and the sealife centre. Just be warned we went into Birmingham yesterday and they were queuing outside to get into primark! We decided to go back another time!

The reason people might confuse the venues is they’ve been renamed and are similar. Madness I think.

Take that are at the old national indoor arena which is now called arena Birmingham and is indeed in the city centre. You could park at the mailbox or at brindley place but it will get busy so get there early. Brindley place is lovely to eat, and head towards new street station to get to primark and also the bull ring. Not far at all.

The nec which was the genting arena, is now called resorts world arena and is at the airport/Birmingham international.

Enjoy the concert, I’m going too!
