The Panhandle - visiting recommendations
Hi - Looking at exploring The Panhandle for a different take on Florida.
Any advice / recommendaitons appreciated. Mostly interested in exploring beaches, national / state parks, any outdoor activities - cycling, water sports etc in preference to towns. Thank you |

We looked at the Panhandle and have decided to go across the border to Alabama instead. Having said that Seaside looks amazing and we will still be visiting Pensacola

Have a look at Destin. We were there last month, the beach was like white sugar. There was a nature park in the area. We stayed at Embarc Sandestin. It had everything on the resort you could want, beach, marina, sports etc

If you like warplanes there is the museum at Eglin AFB near Fort Walton.

My best friend lives in Ft Walton beach, so we have stay there a few times. The beach is amazing, we went to Destin too, where there is a Disney outlet, and found totally different things on sale to Orlando. We had lunch at the Destin Habor boardwalk, then looked round the little shops.
Definitely worth a visit
