Gulf coast accommodation recommendations - AMI/Clearwater/st petes

Hi,
We are planning our third trip to Florida Easter 2021, we have booked a villa on Highlands Reserve for the main stay of 13 nights but want to start off with three nights/days ‘at the beach’.

I have no idea where to start looking for suitable accommodation!

I would love a sea view beach house on AMI but unfortunately three nights looks like it would cost more than our 13 night villa stay on Highlands Reserve!

So, second to that, a clean, functional motel/hotel room that will accommodate myself & DH & DS ( who will be nearly 14) within walking distance to some amenities would be great as we are happy to drive to AMI so I can at least look at the beach house for ‘the next trip’

Many thanks in advance

Clearwater Pier60 hotel might fit the bill, fantastic view from the rooftop bar, walk to the beach, bars and restaurants close by

We have previously stayed at the Hilton Clearwater and really like the feel and the close proximity of everything the rooms are light and are a good size

For our first visit to AMI we stayed in the Tortuga Inn. It’s down the Bradenton Beach end of the Island and was just perfect for us. They have studio rooms up to 2 bed apartments sleeping 6, it’s literally across the road from the beach with 2 pools.
We went back to AMI last year and would have definitely stayed at the TI again but like you wanted to experience a house instead. Here’s a few photos, if you want to see any more check out my trip report from 2017 😃
