We haven't completed the blue form for a while now but was given one in Feb at Virgin check-in Gatwick, we didn't complete it and wasn't asked for one at MCO

We were just asked by the customs officer at passport control at MCO 2 weeks ago. Told him we had porridge and he didn’t ev3n seem to write it down. No fingerprints either strangely (5th April)

The blue and white form is a customs declaration
The green form was replaced by the ESTA system where you did the form online (on the USA CBP site) and costs $14 per successful application and lasts for 2 years OR until your passport expires which ever comes first. I hope that makes sense!

Last April flying into Orlando , staff told us to use the automated machines but then we still had to queue to go to customs officer. He told us we had to go away & complete a customs declaration form! Fortunately we didn’t have to go to the back of the queue again. Photo & fingerprints were done again. Other members of our family travelling with us went straight through after using the automated customs machines. Is this just a spot check where they choose random people to do the full checks or are things different a year on?

Flew into San Diego a week ago; custom forms handed out on plane.
Self service kiosks for use by Global Entry only; all luggage had to be collected BEFORE immigration; announcement made that San Diego no longer need the physical customs form; all (visitors & US citizens) went through an immigration officer, no fingerprints or photos at all, customs questions asked by IO. Flew into Tampa at Christmas; luggage collected AFTER immigration; self service kiosk for all except GE; no customs form needed as neither of us got X at the self service kiosk, if we had, we’d have needed to hand over our completed customs form; prints & photos done at self service kiosk. Seems like each airport has a slightly different system at present. Edited at 09:49 PM. |

We've had a few trips where we were given the customs forms on the plane, and they weren't taken. We also had a system whereby one officer wrote on it and the other collected it at the end. Seeing the queues build up to hand a form in whilst waiting for your bags to come out then you can join it was one of my bugbears.

Ahh, required forms and cards. June 2012 acquired B2, flew Nov 2012, crew advised only F6059b customs declaration to complete, wrong! Lass checking pax at airport asked where our visa holders white card was, what white card, luckily she had one, I filled it in super-quick... perhaps that was a hint of what was to come, IO stamped both pp's B2/180, then inadvertently keystroked (just me!) into the US as a 90 day ESTA holder, 5 month later I left US soil as an oblivious 61 day overstayer!
