70000 Avios points!

Been given 70000 Avios points for our cancelled flight last Friday from Vegas ( we never got back home until Monday)...
Is that a good amount to do anything with.
This was our first time flying BA.

Go into your BA Executive members accounts & check our where you can use that amount - assume you got that same amount each? In which case you can link your accounts for a household account.

It depends what it “buys” you !

If it’s an economy flight for one to Brussels then personally I’d say no. If it would buy you two economy seats to NY then I’d be happy.

I think there is a formula for working out the monetary value of AVIOS points, which is probably what you need but I don’t know where I’ve seen it.

I think you need to ask that question on ba flyertalk, the guys there are the experts when it comes to avios compensation.

I used 50k + £100 for the two of us to fly Club Europe (return) to Rome. Not sure if it was the best use of them, but really enjoyed the experience including the use of the lounge at T5.
From that 140k between you should open up a good few opportunities. Enjoy.

Return economy flights off peak London to MCO is 32500 points to give you some context.
You will need to pay taxes and your use of them is dependent on availability- reward seats often need to be booked on release 11 months in advance and often requires some level of flexibility in your plans.
If this doesn’t work for how you travel I would ask for cash.

I don't know anything about Avios, I just had a look and you can fly to some pretty amazing prices with 70,000. Did you get 70,000 each?
