Jilly and Willy's First. Meemee's 6th Day 8

www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=35169111/9/09 to 25/9/09
The cast
Me been to Disney 10 times 52 years slightly OCD that tight I only breathe in
Al. My OH 52 years driver and pathfinder
Meemee 75 years 6th time to Disney Ailments too numerous to mention.Has an ECV we call it the COC (chariot of carnage)
Our Willy 50 years first time to Florida has the body of a god ... Buddah
Jilly First time to Disney. Willies" significant other" 50 years has rheumatoid athritus doesn't let it get her down . Has a wheelchair.

According to the DIBB PLAN.

We are supposed to be going for a drive to Daytona Beach today.

Our Willy has been reading a guide book he found in the villa.
Apparently it said it is a bit dodgy there.
Full of hairy bikers and all that.
He reckons he has seen that film Deliverance and being the fat one of the party there is no way he is going to become some Hells Angels bitch.
He is such a wuss.
So it looks like we are actually going to have to deviate from THE PLAN this is tantamount to sacrilege.
We threw various ideas round but our Willy was having none of it.
Then it dawned on me it is Saturday and the footie results will filter through at 12 noon from England.
Meemee was happy to stay at the villa and have her eldest son all to herself.
Al just goes with the flow.
Jilly wanted to go to Seaworld. I dont like Seaworld but agree if you come to Florida you must visit it.
So it was agreed me and Al would go with Jilly to Seaworld.
We decided to have a count up to see what money we had left.
We started with 800 dollars per person plus a five hundred dollar kitty.
Me I have 800 dollars minus 47 dollars for drugs
Meemee has 800 dollars minus 40 dollars for trousers
Al has 800 dollars
Jilly has 800 dollars minus 30 dollars for blouses
Willy has 800 dollars minus 16 dollars for a huge bottle of Jack Daniels.
We have 10 dollars left in the kitty.
UNBELIEVABLE.
We have been fed and watered for a week on approx a tenner each per day. Plus we paid petrol and parking.
I could write a book!
"Florida on shoelace".
We haven't really eaten out much because of dietry conditions and Meemee not being well. I suppose that amounts to a big part of it.

Anyway we arrived at Seaworld and had to buy tickets as we hadn't bought them in England.
74 dollars each.
We headed for the first show of BELIEVE.
I do not like this show.
It is because the trainers actually BELIEVE that the show is about them.
They prance about in their rubber suits some of them dont even get in the water.
They all have this maddeningly smug demeanor.
We are then subjected to a ten minute film of a little lad carving out a tail fin whilst watching the whales and then made to BELIEVE that this is what set one of the trainers on his career path.
Dont they realise we are only there to see the whales.!
The whales are brilliant.
Now I am always slightly uncomfortable watching animals do tricks, but Jilly pointed out that the whales in the holding area seemed to be really anxious to get out and perform.
The worst bit is where they take a kid out of the audience and bestow a tail fin necklace on them.
You then get outside and there they all are selling the bloody tail fins.
Eleven dollars each!
All the kids are "skriking" if they dont get one, because they do BELIEVE and now think they are not worthy to be a trainer.

By the time the show was over we made our way to the hospitality area.
The terrace cafe.
The last time I was here it was heaving.
It was impossible to get a table.
Today it was empty.
Then I realised they do not give away complimentary beer anymore.
(Can't be selling enough tail fins).
For lunch we had a cottage loaf hollowed out then filled with a stew.
It was 8 dollars and there was far too much but very nice.

We had a walk round the Clydesdales. (Magnificent animals).
We saw Bud I presume there was a Weisser but never saw him.

We then had a trip around the Wild Artic we transferred by helicopter this is not a good idea with a belly full of cottage loaf and stew.

I could only see one polar bear there are supposed to be two Klondyke and snow.
I saw it on a discovery programme, a tv crew had rescued one of them as a very young cub and the only place that it could survive was at Seaworld.
We then had to rush on to catch the sea lion show.
This was excellent as always .
I just wish they would put the mime artist out for longer than 10 minutes that guy just cracks me up.

Determined to get the most out of our 74 dollars we followed straight up with the Blue Horizons.
The Dolphin show.
Again I feel that this is a bit like look at me.
But its not as bad as BELIEVE.
The lass in the pink rubber suit was here two years ago when I visited.
I thought then that she could do with shedding a few pounds.
Dont get me wrong she is not enormous or anything its just that she is the leading lady dressed in a tight sparkly rubber suit.
Its my turn to feel a tad smug.
Because brain cells come and brain cells go but dont those fat cells just live on forever.
Actually I realise I like this show and I love the part where they release the birds and marvel they all return to the trainer.

The Andean condor is something to behold.

We called in to see one of my favourites the manatees
They are adorable, I could watch these peaceful creatures for hours.
This brings me to one of my main gripes about Seaworld. The roller coasters!
Its either a Sea life centre or a theme park.
It cant be both.
They did exactly the same at Busch gardens.
Animal kingdom seem to have struck a balance and I can live with that.
We see the pictures of the poor manatees that have been rescued with appalling injuries trauma and shock.
They are patched up and then subjected to listening to Mantra hurling round every minute of the day.
It just dont sit right with me.

I think Jilly was hankering to go on Journey to Atlantis but I was having none of it.
If you want log flumes there are far better ones at Island of Adventure and my poor mannatees will benefit from one less screamer today.
Firm but fair.
I was determined to see all the animals.
We saw the penguins so funny and cute.

Managed to get in the Shark encounter.

Then last my least favourite those awful rays.
They smell, I dont like feeding them and I dont like my fingers being sucked.
I paid 18 dollars for 12 stinking,rancid little fish.
Jilly and Al did most of the feeding.
Me?
I dont feel well I'm having an out of money experience.

It was nearing closing time so we made our way to the exit.

We called into Beltz to see what we could buy with all the money we had left.
I viewed the Tiger Woods collection in Nike. Every year I buy it.
The polo shirts were sort of a naff blue and yellow with a horizontal stripe.
I decided not to buy.
I must be like Mystic Meg or summat because lets face it those polos are going to be in the 6 dollar bargain bin in Target next year.
(mindst you after the row we had on day 4 me and Al are probably banned from Target).
Time was getting on and we had promised Meemee and Willy we would bring home a takeaway.
We stopped at the bottom of the US27 and caled to the drive thru Burger King. It only cost 6 dollars each.

I spent more feeding the rays.

Tomorrow we are going to do the countries at Epcot.
I will try to do photos.
I am gutted we are now in our second week and I have got to try and not count the days but make the days count.

Loving it! It is amazing how cheaply you can eat out there if you cook and dont go out.

Spot on review of the BELIEVE show. I am off to tell my father that they no longer give away free beer at Seaworld. I believe this is the only reason he goes.

Bejaysus youre not doing anything to dispel the myth that yorkshire people are mean...

All good stuff , hilarious writing... you are wasted frying breakfasts...

I love your honesty ( as well as your humour ) we don't visit seaworld, I'm not sure about animals performing.

On the flip side I did teach my cat to give a paw, which he now uses to ask for treats or an extra meal, or a seat etc etc, He seems to like the power it has given him.

Many thanks for your messages I have taught Meemees dog Dylan "PAW" but I dont charge people to watch him 5 times a day.
Seriously this is the only day when I was trying to be unfunny.
