If you get a 3 payg sim you get all you can eat data.

Thanks guys. I do have a 3 contract and have used it lots of time over there. I think I'm going to download the apps and look at the direction we need to go. I have sat nav built into my car at home so don't really want to buy one i'm only going to need once.

If you have an iPhone.. maps app. If you have Android.. Google maps.

Don't fuss with Waze as both above apps provide live traffic

We love waze and find it more reliable than other apps.

It reroutes you if an accident happens or traffic builds so you always get the quickest route.

For me -

I use Google maps.
Download the offline maps also for Florida to your device, this saves data (i know you have a 3 sim) but it allows google maps to perform quicker as its not reliant on data feed.

Also, install android auto onto your phone too if you dont have it.

My tip - as soon as you land or when leaving the airport building, load google maps in advance so your phone locks onto a GPS, then when you load google maps in the garage, it will of cached your current (ish) location and the routing will start from the word go.

Have used google maps and Waze, but prefer google as Waze takes you through some spurious backroads.
Tom Tom go has just relaunched their newly developed app. Used it a few times in the U.K. this week and have been impressed. Will try this on my next Florida trip. Might be worth looking at if you have data through three as the traffic is very good. I think you can also download North American maps offline.

Thanks guys, re routing is something I have absolutely no idea about, even over here ! The last thing I want is to end up in some shady neighbourhood. If Waze does that then I'm sticking to google.x

Waze has never steered me wrong, as long as you give it all the relivant information ie zip code road name, then you will be fine.

I suggest downloading the HERE we go app. You can download the Florida maps separately. This allows the navigation to work with or with out data. I think the original build was done by Garmin for Nokia so might feel very familiar.

We have used this many times and recommended it to family who have also been very impressed.

The search options are brilliant you do not even need a zip code. For example we just typed in Manny's chophouse and it brought up the three closest ones. With data turned on it also gives very good traffic updates.
