What the Heck is wrong with Disney's IT System

Trying to book Old Key West 26-31 /12.

Now according to the website I: a) Own Riviera Points; and b) Am trying to book before Riviera opens on 16 December.

A new low!

Now if they wish to gift me a couple of hundred Riviera points, that is fine I will forgive them.

Edit all done now- I had to remove Riviera from the hotel search (usually just select all WDW hotels checkbox).

Wish I knew what was wrong with Disney IT. I work in IT and if I produced something as shoddy I would be shown the door.

When they launched the MDE website I thought it was awesome.

I think I am right in saying they then sacked all the people who developed it and the contract went to some company in Bombay or somewhere.

Its dreadful.

In some ways the system is great, the ability to amend online is good.
But the downtime (7 dwarfs screen) is ridiculous. Fortunately I haven’t been unfortunate enough to have a critical change such as a 7 month booking as it’s gone down, but the boards are littered with this happening every month. It shouldn’t happen.
This, thinking I had Riviera points was daft.

What’s wrong with disney’s IT system...everything

Outsourced to Cognizant who IMO don’t know their ≈≈≈≈ from their elbow when it comes to digital. Mind you I thought Disney IT was a pile of crap before that change so they haven’t made it worse. Focus seems to be on shiny stuff while neglecting to get the basics in place like decent ordering systems and fixing bugs on websites

I’ve been doing some reading today about product management and it struck me that mde was a great example of the product manager not saying no enough to new things. So PR etc keep on booting on new features but deep down they need to spend time maintaining the core of the service. It is really buggy and stitch is eating far too many pages.
