Always had Crocs or Clark’s Doodles for mine: never any blisters & never moaned about their feet! ☺️

Think I'll look at the walking type fabric shoes, clarkes maybe.
My middle son had an inturned foot when he was a baby. We was told to only have properly fitted shoes from the likes of Clark’s
Plus when our daughter was little the diabetes nurse told us to never buy her crocs lol I assume they are fine for non diabetic children though.

My type1 has often turned up to clinic in her Crocs and no-ones batted an eyelid...

Mark Robinson who overseas our area is a stickler for footwear. We once went and my daughter had dolly shoes on which she was wearing for school (because Clark’s were not cool) he told her the risks of poor fitting shoes and diabetes, how she could loose her toes and even feet!
Any plastic or rubber foot wear is a massive no no because they can unknowingly rub the toes. Diabetes have less feelings in there feet and more prone to infection. Plus a blister takes a lot longer to heal then a non diabetic person.
They have posters up on footwear, toe nail care and the usual, drinks, snacks, eye care etc
I am shocked nothing was said about the crocs in the diabetic clinic
We get the same spiel when she sees the podiatrist every year too.

I’ve never liked crocs for growing feet either .
Ds has one pair and did not get on well with them .
I find the Nike sunray sandals or Birkenstock ones good , especially the Birkenstock’s as they’re made to fit the curves of the arches etc

Seems your health authority are a tad over zealous on this matter. That’s not a criticism, long term every thing you’ve said is something our type 1 children do need to take into account however as children they are incredibly unlikely to be effected by these things. Especially if they have excellent blood control (as my DD does) and therefore very limited risk of the long term pitfalls (at this moment in time).

You’re correct, the current sandals are Crown Bloom or Crown Root depending on the style you’re after. The doodle ones (the synthetic ones you can also wear in water) are surfing tide. They’re selling out fast though, so I’d hurry to buy 😊 (I work in a Clark’s store)

Nike Air rift sandals were fab for our DD last trip - only problem this time round she is classed as 'youth' sizing so more expensive.. 😂

Update: bought DS a pair of good quality second hand Clarkes sandals off eBay to try. Worn all weekend and not a single mention of 'bumpy' feet or achey legs. I know to spend a bit more now for comfort and quality. Thanks all😀
