Car Hire - what documents

His, son is having his dream car for 3 days on our trip in August, mustang just wanting to check that all he needs is his card driving licence. We've never hired a car out there before, so want to make sure we're all sorted. Hired through DFCH he's 22. Reassurance would be appreciated.

Hi. Andy will have highlighted any issues when he took did the booking.

However he will need his driving license and a credit card in his name. Plus the rental agreement from Andy that will have the reservation number on it.

They will swipe the card for the purpose of billing ref any tolls etc and they will do a check of the license. After that a new contract will be generated that will have his details on it plus full details of the car make, mileage etc etc on it.

That is where you need to be on the ball! Check the balance is $0 unless any extras are purchased. In his case make sure they don't put on a young driver surcharge if Andy has already factored that in. If he hasn't then an additional fee will apply.

yup, he need to have his driving license AND a Credit (or Debit) card in his own name.

If you've made the reservation under your name, he'll need to be added as an additionnal driver. And you would be the one needing to show DL and CC

If he doesn't have his own CC or DC, and the booking is in his name, he won't get the car.

if he's picking up from MCO, do online check in (and skip the counter if you wish) and he'll get to choose his car

if you pick up from DCCC you can still do online check in but he'll need to visit the desk first, and his car will be allocated

BTW, even though there are high chances he gets a mustang, I hope he's aware that the category booked is "convertible or similar", Mustangs are not guaranteed.

Your other choice will be a Camero, better car in all ways, but for the novelty take the Mustang. In all honesty both are a bit rubbish really.
