Day activities between Orlando & Fort Lauderdale?
Next year we are cruising from Miami on DCL. I have finally decided that it is too much to check out the townhouse and do a dawn set off to Miami (about 4hrs drive) and then board DCL. So I have decided to spend the night before the cruise in Fort Lauderdale, I have found a Holiday Inn that has suites that will accommodate all 5 of us, got great reviews and I have enough Reward Points that it will be free .
So, I don't like the kids being stuck in the car for too long, so am looking for somewhere to go/something to do between Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, and please not a beach day. It might make a difference as not all activites run every day, so it will be a Saturday. So far looking on a map all I have found is this in Martin County. Any suggestions? Thanks, Karen |

Hi
We travelled down to Fort Lauderdale and aside from the beach we did the 'Jungle Queen Riverboat' this is opposite the beach so lots of parking and easy to get to. It was great fun looking at the huge properties on the river and listening about who owned them. The only bit we didn't like was on the Island, which is a stopover before going back, they had an alligator show. We didn't stay for that but the little market stalls were fun.
