Stuck in the Tower of Terror

Sarasota hyatt
Hi, has anyone stayed here and if so what were your thoughts? How far to beach etc. What else is in general area? Are there parking costs? Never stayed in Hyatt hotels before but like the look of it online. Many thanks

Stayed there last July.
Very good hotel. Staff and general service levels were excellent. Car parking is free and if you are luck there is a section of the car park that is under cover so your car is not like an oven after its been sitting in the sun. Very nice pool, free towels, and bar and snacks were excellent for lunchtime. In the evening when we were there thy projected a movie onto a screen at one end of the pool when the sun went down. DD watched Lion King while swimming in the pool while we enjoyed a drink from the pool bar. Thought breakfast in the hotel was a bit steep but there is an excellent dinner about 300 metres from the hotel. In the evening we eat out in the restaurants in the town. These were better priced than the hotel and we were spoiled for choice each night as every meal seemed better than the last. |

Lido Beach is about 5 mins drive from the Hyatt. The hotel is at the edge of Sarasota. You come out the hotel turn right past the breakfast dinner up to the Gulf Stream which leads you on to John Ringling Causeway and into John Ringling Blvd. There are lots of shops and Resturants here around a roundabout (St Armands Circle) . We had our best breakfast (Blue Dolphin Cafe. bluedolphincafe/ ) on the trip here, but be warned you need to be there early as its very busy. If they say its a 30 min wait, don't leave it's worth it. Also loads of bars in this area and they are happy to accommodate families. Also small boutique style shops and a fabulous ice cream shop. On the road down to the beach the parking is free. Lido beach is very clean and there are life guards on duty. The water is very warm and our kids played happily all day. The only thing you have to pay for are the beds and umbrellas. There is also a cafe and shop right on the beach for drinks, snacks and toilets.
Think you might be able to detect we enjoyed our trip! A great break away from the Q's in the parks and a great place to recharge the batteries. Edited at 11:18 AM. |

That's what we are hoping for - 16 nights Orlando then 4 near the beach to chill out. Getting excited thinking about it. Pity we've got to wait a year hopefully prices for hotel will be up soon, only letting me see til May 2014 and we are looking to be there mid July thanks for help, greatly appreciated.

I stayed there 2 weeks ago. Nice hotel, the room had a lovely view towards the town and causeway with a window bench to enjoy it. As said the parking is free, its walkable to the centre and the beach is only a few minutes drive.

We also stayed at The Lido Beach Resort, with 2 pools and right on the beach. lovely resort and great staff.
Loved the location to St Armands Circle for restaurants and bars, the hotel had a shuttle bus which dropped you off and we walked back. Also close enough to Siesta Key and Anna Maria Island for a day trip. Have a great time, I am sure you will love the area
