Do you mean a standard, a large or asking about both? We had a standard a couple of years ago and it was a Hyundai Santa Fe. Insurance looked as good as any other rental coy we have used

I got a Pathfinder first. White, full of scratches, and a flat tyre. I brought it back and got a 2015 GMC Acadia with Michigan plates, and wonky steering that drove as rough as a badger.
Wasn't impressed with the condition although the cars themselves were grand.

OP. Haven't used Hertz for over 20 years! However they are a good Company and I have studied their Insurance and it's fine. Basically the same as Avis, Alamo et al.

What do you mean by not good? I had a terrible customer service experience with hertz, but from a category perspective the cars were of the size and spec you would expect from a large standard suv category. you asked what make / model of car you'd expect to get - and the answer was a Nissan Pathfinder or GMC Acadia are two possible options. There's a really useful sticky up the topof the car hire thread which might indicate further models you could receive. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "no good" - you could always book am upgrade if you don't like those, and I'm not sure what starting a second thread on the same subject will elucidate either.

We picked our car up last night and the process was quite good. It all seems to take ages after a long flight and 2 hours through immigration but it was as good as any we have used.
I had booked a mid size SUV (a jeep) but they upgraded up to a Dodge Journey. There are only 4 of us and it is a 7 seater so you may get one of those. It's a long car and comfortable and easy to drive. If you get one and there are 7 of you it will be small and you will struggle for luggage space. We had to put the back seats down to fit our 4 cases in.
