Car hire on International Drive
We're going on holiday to Orlando this June and are hoping to hire a car. As we've never driven there before we're quite nervous about it, and so we've decided to book transfers to and from the airport, and picking up a hire car from near the hotel. We'll be staying in the Floridays. Do you know of any car hire places near here or on international drive? Do you know of any that deliver to your chosen hotel? Also any recommendations on what vehicle size we should go for, there will be 5 adults (all of us will have a suitcase each). Any advice you can give would be much appreciated. Thank you

I assume it's the Floridays Resort on South I Drive?.
If it is your quickest and easiest option is to get a cab, or a free shuttle if they have one, to WDW. I would go for an Alamo car and pick it up near to Disney Springs at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel (think its just changed its name) The reason I say this is the cab fare is less than taking you to the Disney car Care Centre (Alamo) by the MK. Forget the luggage as with transfers it wont impact on you. To that end a standard SUV will be fine. Edit. Nobody delivers to you sorry.

hello
I booked with Andy from Discount Florida car hire. Wanted to take the Disney Express Bus to Disney and get a car later in the hol, told him what I wanted and he made it happen, cheaper than buying direct with the provider. I just jumped an uber to the car hire place and it was a breeze. Driving over there is not as stressful as you think, everything is really well signposted and it all makes sense! Good to have a co-pilot with a map in the passenger seat tho and or a satnav/gps map on your phone. Driving an automatic is actually so much easier (once you get used to it) top tip is to have a shot of one here. I used to have one here and enjoyed driving it immensely. There is a brilliant Driving In Florida page in the dibb guide book - deffo deffo worth a read. But don't stress - many people do and end up really enjoying driving over there.
