2 days in London-cheapish things to do?

Possibly we might be in London at the end of October (staying at the premier inn at gatwick, visiting someone on the Portobello road)

I'll probably have some spare time while o/h is visiting a friend so need a few ideas of something to do during the daytime around that area-don't want to go too far away, any ideas?

Most of museums and art galleries are free to enter. I love the V&A museum (South Kensington) and the National Gallery (Trafalgar Square). It really depends what you are into.

Hyde Park is fairly near for a nice wander. Westfield is close for shopping, though that may not be cheap!

Imperial War Museum- DH wanted to go, I wasn't so keen but it was absolutely fantastic! Well worth a visit. And tbh you can spend hours just doing a walking sightseeing tour.

We love walking along the Embankment watching all the street entertainers. It's right next to London Eye, Aquarium and Big Ben so a few iconic landmarks to see. China Town and Convent Garden are also interesting places to walk around

Register for a taste card and save up to half price on food (it's £4 a month but with it with big savings)
