Passport help.
Hello
Just gone to do my DDs(15) Esta and noticed that her passport runs out on 17/01/2018. We travel last two weeks in august this year, so leaves about just under five months on passport, do I need a new one? I have heard about the six month rule but never been in this situation before. Should I go ahead and do the Esta or would it be wise to get a new passport and then do the ESTA? many Thanks

Hi. Your passport just needs to be valid for the dates of travel so she will be absolutely fine.

A Uk passport doesn't need to be valid for 6 months for trips to the US. We went in April last year and our children's passports ran out in May and it wasn't a problem at all.

Esta applied for but came back pending…yikes! Never had that before, usually get approved straight away. Im wondering if its because Im applying for DD on her own. Hubby and I did one for Vegas last October, so we don't need one.

Happens all the time. Normally logging out and in again sorts it all out

This has happened to me the two times I have done them since the questions changed, Both have been confirmed within 24 hours when I have logged back on. Nothing to worry about.

I could be entirely wrong here but just from reading
credit cards got thru instantly, debit cards say pending. Its not that your esta is pending, I believe its just your payment is pending - clearing and that takes longer than a credit card... Of course you will now say, I paid with a credit card and i'll go away quietly!
