Travel Insurance

I'm looking to get an annual mutli trip worldwide policy - does anyone know if this is sufficient when going on a Disney Cruise or do I need separate/something else. I booking everything (flights/hotel/cruise etc) separately as I normally buy a package with travel insurance. Also can anyone recommend who to get one with?

Thanks
Sue

We had an Annual Family Worldwide policy with M&S the last time - we got 2 holidays out of it 1 to Florida & 1 to Tenerife. We paid £40 extra and we had no excess either. It covered us for our Cruise too. I am planning on the same one for this year. Luckily we did not have to claim, so I don't know how good they would be in the result of having to claim but have heard that they are really good if you do have to claim

You have to ask the individual company concerned ; some cover it at no extra charge, others make a small extra charge and others won't cover you - it does not pay to assume they cover you - you must check with the companies you get quotes from - getting air lifted off a ship is very costly in an emergency, so don't take a chance and simply assume you will be OK. !

We use Dr24travel.com - they don't charge extra for cruise cover, and also with their policy, members of your party have to be UK residents, but don't have to be living at the same address (useful if your partner/ siblings live elsewhere - because most companies will not cover this situation).

P.S. Its not just the medical aspect - I know someone who had their claim for a camera, that was dropped whilst on board a cruise ship, rejected on the grounds that their 'activity' (ie cruise) was not covered.

Strange I know, but many insurance companies will class a cruise as an 'activity' rather than merely a holiday.

Sadly, with some insurance firms, if they can find an excuse, or get out clause, they will use it

Direct Line (the one with the red phone) are another company I have used for a cruise, but it must be declared on your policy. They did not charge either, if it was a short cruise.
