2 week Orlando 1 week on the beach

Hi

We are going to Orlando for 21 nights on the 19th July, we have been thinking about doing 2 weeks in disney and 1 week on the beach somewhere to relax. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children, age 11,8 & 7.
Please can you give me some advise on where the best beachy place to go, we do not want to spend too long travelling but would like to go to a new seafront.

Any ideas?

Thanks

This is what we're doing next week onwards 2 weeks at Disney and 1 week at Indian shores .

We usually go clearwater but it was working out to much for a condo there so we moved for something further down the road .

We book through vrbo.com

Takes about 90mins or so to get to Clearwater and around that area it's lovely!

Regards,
Scott.

We have also stayed a week at the beach, we stayed at the Barefoot Beach resort, it is a condo complex with 1 & 2 beds, between the inter coastal and the Gulf coast, was a great place to stay we cant wait to return.

We have just returned from spending 3 nights at the Barefoot Beach Hotel in Madeira Beach (St Pete) and would highly recommend it. Wished we had booked more nights but we needed to get back to International Drive for more Disney and Universal etc.

It is right on the beach, within walking distance of Johns Pass which has several places to eat and drink. The sunset was fantastic and there is the chance of seeing dolphins in the wild

We are here now and are doing exactly that. We're in orlando for 2 weeks then this coming Sunday we go to Sarasota for 6 days. We always stay at the holiday inn lido beach which is on the beach. We've been there for the last 6 years and love it. Our children love the water sports and we love St Armands Circle for a stroll and meal in the evening, We will be exploring Anna Maria Island this year too. Siesta Keys has one of the best voted beaches in the world, beautiful place. Good luck x

We have done exactly what your are planning - 15 nights orlando and now we are part way though our 10 night beach week.
We are on siesta key in sarasota - it is beautiful! Sand is like flour & Mexican gulf lovely & warm but not too warm that its unrefreshing! Lovely restaurants but they are along the roads not a single beach front eatery! that has been the only downside.

Try Anna Marie Island. Real old Florida, quiet with stunning beaches & lots of places on the beach to grab a bite (from nice resturants to small family cafes)

We've done Anna Maria Island - where we stayed in a cottage - and Fort Myers Beach - where we stayed at the Mango Street Inn. Loved both. Planning a possible trip next year and this time thinking of trying somewhere a little closer to Tampa so possibly Clearwater. I think there's enough to do with the beach, Busch Gardens day trips and perhaps a couple of trips up the coasts.
