Mears taxi hire

Hi there I have just been looking at the Mears taxi journey estimator someone posted ion here for me, I would like to use them in October to get for our hotel to the villa, do I have to pre book or call up on the day? I tried to make a dummy booking but it comes up with a private car and the prices goes from $28 to $180 .

The hotel reception should be able to organise a cab for you. We did this a few times to get to Downtown Disney, they seemed to have a better deal with the local cab companies. My aunt used a local cab company (can't remember who) from Lake Wilson Preserve to MCO and it cost her $30 might help with trying to figure out the cost.

Thanks for your reply, I think I might just wait and book on the day, it can't cost that much

Mears have got an app that will show you the price of a journey without booking that might be useful to you. You just search where you're going from and to.

It's on the Google play store (just search for mears taxi). I assume it'll be on the iPhone app store as well.

We used quite a few taxis and we just asked at the valet parking desk outside our hotel and they called taxis for us, it was no problem.

When you get the desk to call for a taxi, ask them how much it should be. They can give you an idea of the cost, then you can argue with the cab driver if they try to overcharge you.

Yes, we used Quicksilver to and from the airport, and when we visited the Florida Mall, and had no problems at all with them.

We were getting picked up on our last day from Downtown Disney, but our usual spot was inaccessible due to all the building works, but Gregory at Quicksilver was very helpful arranging another pickup spot that was convenient for us.
