P&O Tips
I know there is a £5pppn tip that is added to your bill, which we won't begrudge whatsoever, and are happy to pay. However, I wanted to know, do we then have to also tip room service etc?

Two week med cruise in August. Looking forward to it ... But we wish we were going to Disney instead 😔

We did the Disney med cruise last August. It was awesome!
For tipping we did $1 for room service. At the end of the cruise a sheet is but in detailing the tips - which is actually around $12 per day per person, the sheet also tells you how this is going to be split. I had opted to pay cash for tops so got my 4 little envelopes, I did not agree with the split however as it meant that the head server who said Hi on my 1st night and blanked me 3 other nights as I walked into dinner got a greatly reduced tip! I did however split his share between the water and his assistant as well as my room host as they really made my entire trip. In fact I felt the assistant deserved as much as the main server as she was amazing. I gathered that tipping is a touchy subject so also do what you feel is right. My story above people may feel is wrong but I end by that choice and would do the same again if I had that time over again. Edited at 11:13 AM. Reason: Spelling |

Tbh Brinbunny, I would do the same. Head server or not, you won't get a bigger tip from me for saying Hi and then blanking me for the rest of the time. And you can tell when someone is deliberately doing it, as opposed to just not recognisng you, lol!

There is much less of a tipping culture on P&O so the steward will probably be pleasantly surprised to get a tip - we would usually give a £1 or similar but that's it and there was certainly no expectation of it.

Thanks for this! We have never cruised before so not sure on etiquette if tip is put onto our accounts. Also would we tip GBP or EUR? A little worried about handing over a €1 or £1 coin and seeming stingy that's all 😟
