What are the tourist malls like at a weekend?

Hi. If SW/waterparks and MK are to be avoided on Saturdays, how sensible would shopping be as an alternative?

Looking at a rough outline of a plan for 2 weeks in august. Our first few days we plan to go to Cocoa, as a launch is scheduled on our first full day in Florida, and that would bring us coming home from there on a Sat so not planning anything else for that day. Struggling to work out what to do on the 2nd Sat though.

Guessing Busch would be busy with locals at weekend. We are due to check in to RPR on Sunday for days at Universal Sunday/Monday. We are only planning to go 2 days Disney MK on our first Sunday, and AK sometime later in hols but weekend looks bad.

Do locals go shopping in places like Premium Outlets at weekends, or would a Saturday be a good day to go shopping and chill out? Would appreciate hearing from anybody with experience of going shopping in Orlando at the weekends.

Thanks.

The outlets are pretty much always busy, mainly the parking. It doesn't actually feel that busy around the shops. I like to get there when they open so you are guarenteed a parking place and then go back and chill by the pool in the afternoon!

if you go to the premium outlets at the top of idrive I would advise parking at the artegon centre across the road where the bass pro shop is if you go in the afternoon. Then walk across the road to the outlets. Parking at the outlets after 12pm is a nightmare in he 2 closer car parks.

Edited at 11:00 PM.

If I can't find a parking space at the outlets I use their valet parking. At about $15 it's an extravagance but do I care ?!

It also depends on the weather - on a wet Saturday - if it starts wet early in the day the malls all fill up really quickly. On a dry day, no problems if you go in the morning.
