Any suggestions for dining in New York that won’t completely blow the budget? Travelling next week 2 adults 2 kids (13/10). We visited 11 years ago on honeymoon and fell into tourists traps - Hard Rock Cafe, bubba gump, planet Hollywood etc. Looking for idea please xx 7 day trip x

I’m sure someone’s mentioned a $1 pizza place. NY food isn’t cheap. We decided to go healthy one morning and buy some help yourself fruit salads in a deli. They were delicious... and $40! We found a great bakery for breakfast for take away bagels, took snacks for lunch, and ate a meal for dinner. We had lovely pizzas in Brooklyn (Juliana’s). Ellen’s stardust diner is expensive but an experience not to be missed.
have a fantastic time, our family can’t wait to go back.

Following as we go in 3 weeks and we've planned what we want to do just not planned food. Definitely fancy Ellen's Stardust diner from the reviews i've read but need to plan others so any advice would be much appreciated - thank you.

we loved urban space and the street food options and heartland brewery but our favourite was Jacks Wife Freda, it is an instragamers favourite but the food was good and it didn't break the bank.

We had a few lovely breakfasts in Andrews coffee shop on 7th avenue. Very reasonable cost wise. They opened all day but we didn't try anything later in the day.
The kids wanted subway a couple of times, and also picked up things from Starbucks. The cost of main meals in the evenings was really expensive which we only did a couple of times.
We went to Ellen's stardust diner but tbh I didn't think the food was great.
Juniors looked really nice, had a couple of gorgeous cakes from there. Enjoy, it's a fabulous place!

Barilla is really lovely and good value. We always use the one opposite Bryant Park on the evening we arrive. They serve the best lasagna I have ever had.

We didn’t spend a lot on food (other than Ellen’s) but we didn’t eat fancy either. We had breakfast in a place next door to our hotel. That was pancakes etc for 4 which came to $60.

Lunch we got sandwiches and took them to the park and ate outside. $33

We had slices of pizza in Chelsea Market $32 for 4

Good Enough to Eat. Between 85th and 86th, Columbus Ave, one block back from half way up Central Park.
Went there for lunch today after reading review. Cost $60 for 3 of us. I had blue cheese and spinach salad, hubby tuna melt and salad and son burger with fries. Nicest food all holiday.
Like an old fashioned pub inside and really busy.
Best salad I have ever had.

Another one which has great reviews Bubbys, by High Line. We walked past and it was really busy and food looked lovely. Unfortunately we had just eaten.
