A Fleeting Visit To WDW - Hollywood Studios
We decided to use jet lag to our advantage as Hollywood Studios was open at 6am so have walked there from the Boardwalk. The sun hasn't come up yet so it's like seeing Galaxy's edge at night! Ray is already wandering about. Time to go on smugglers run! Really excited for this ride! We managed to get Pilots and Gunners! Very lucky! Storm troopers interacting with the guests. We went on smugglers run again and this time we were the gunners. I definitely prefer being the pilot but it was still good fun! We looked around a few more of their shops including Antiquities. We then headed to another new area to us, Toy Story Land We used a fast pass at Slinky Dog dash. This was more enjoyable than I thought it would be! Hopped across to swirling saucers. This was pretty good. I could imagine small children would love it. We then headed on to Star Tours, where I was the rebel spy! We headed back to Galaxy's Edge as we had a reservation at Oga's Cantina. We tried 4 different drinks (from left to right): Jedi Mindtrick, t-16 skyhopper, Fuzzy Tauntaun and Dagobah Slug Slinger. The foam on the top makes your lips tingle! People building the Droids Chewbacca Lunch time at the ABC Commissary I had the ribs which were very difficult to eat and are plenty for two people! Mum had the salad Dad had the land and sea platter. On to my all time favourite ride! Tower of Terror. Although probably not the best time for it straight after lunch. We popped back to the hotel for a freshen up and a dip in the pool for me as the heat was stifling today. We then headed back to the park for Fantasmic! One of my favourite shows. We waited for the Star Wars fireworks. The Star Wars fireworks were good but nowhere near as impressive as when we first saw it a few years ago. |

WOW a great day. I've heard that it's a better ride if it's not too young kids who are the pilots, would you agree?

Well i'm a very poor pilot so i will ask Smax, if my poor flying ruined the ride for him as gunner. His verdict, its just as fun, if not funnier when people keep crashing into things. He thinks the main problem is when the engineers are so busy watching the action, they miss pushing the buttons to fire the harpoon at the train to catch the loot. (can't remember the proper name). But this only really affects how many credits you win.
We aren't particularly big Star Wars fans but really enjoyed the ride, riding it two or three times this day and then i think four times on the friday. I was interested to see if we enjoyed it as much the second day we went back or if it was a ride we would quickly find boring. Bear in mind Smax had already been on the ride in California over a couple of days. I'm happy to report that i will be eager to visit the land and ride just as much in the future, although Flight of Passage remains my all time fave of any them park ride i've ever been on. It remains to be seen if the new ride "Rise of the resistance" will change that, whenever i get the chance to go back to Florida. |
