A million kids want the adults to clean up the Earth. Y'know, the people that can actually do something meaningful about this mess - world leaders, business people, and the like. The kids would actually like to carry on being kids.

I would point out that Boyan Slat was given over $30 million by big businesses to start to "clean the oceans". He's now an adult and the CEO of a multi-million dollar business. He's the sort of business person that can sort this mess out. As Greta Thunberg herself said, she simply wants to be a child. She's trying to get the world leaders and big businesses on this planet to sort out their mess - by, for example, providing folk like Boyan the means to help. At the moment, she's not trying to solve the problems herself, that's not the point of her talks. She merely trying to highlight the problem to those who refuse to do anything about it. Also, my problem with the above picture is that it isn't a competition nor a popularity contest. We can have people who are trying to get governments to stop climate change and young entrepreneurs trying to gather up plastic in the oceans. In fact, we need both and more than just those two. (I would also point out that using number of Google searches is not really any reasonable measure of anything significant. Boyan has received many awards and accolades over the last 5 years, far more than Greta. And then there's that $30M he's received. I do wonder what he's going to do with all the plastic once he's collected it.  ).
