EMH- Is it worth it?
Hi. Never stayed onsite before, so never used extra magic hours. Are the morning hours worth it? Touring plans recommends going to other parks as the park with early morning hours are so congested.
It looks like EMH for our first morning will be in AK. Does everyone flock to FOP? Are the other rides quieter for this hour? Thanks |

I’ve found it variable. AK is good if you avoid FoP as everyone does head there. It means everywhere else is quiet. Epcot I didn’t find great last year as Test Track was down however this year we decided to ride Frozen instead and it was walk on.
We were fortunate to have the Extra, Extra Magic Hours and they were definitely worth a visit. |

If you have "hopper" tickets, gp tp the EMH park for the first few hours and then switch. Many Americans have tickets that only allow one park per day (more mpney to hop), so if they do EMH, they will stay in the same park,

Are you sure the touring plan recommendation is not intended for offsite guests? I know the dibb recommendations work that way.
We are always onsite but generally do not bother with EMH. We definitely would not do the evening ones, I think if we did get ourselves organised for a morning one, that would be useful. |

We did EMH at AK in August. We got to the park about 7.40ish for a 8am EMH opening. We walked straight to join the queue for FOP which by that time was half way towards the path to Africa. We got off the ride at about 8.55 and by about 9.05am (5 minutes after official opening) the wait was 180 minutes. For us it was worth it. We then did the Safari, Festival of the Lion King (not planned but it was hot and the kids wanted AC) Everest FP, Maharaj Jungle trek, Kali RR FP, lunch at Yak & Yeti cafe, Dinosaur FP, Triceratops Spin, Tree of Life pathways and left the park at about 2.30 ish. For us on this day it was definitely worth it.

I'd go to AK on your first day just not to FOP- Everything else will be min waits Navi can get 20 min+ - if parks get too busy you can hop to other parks but we never bothered-
We also did Epcot- Soarin was a walk on then frozen 20 minutes- TT fast pass for later expect to get there at least 30 min before the park opens |

Agree with above - loved AK on our EMH - got lots done (we had FP for FOP later) although not all animals were out at the Safari.
MK was a let down as it was so busy it didn't seem to offer any advantage. Epcot was fine - main advantage was skipping past the rope drop crowd. (this was all from July this year) |

Busy day guides are normally always geared towards the off-site guests as they are in the majority, so if staying on-site I would ignore them.
EMH is a great perk and always worth utilising |
