Ramipril and coughing

I was on Lisinopril a few years ago but not for blood pressure and I had the cough. GP changed it when I spoke to them (can’t remember what to though cos I don’t need them anymore)

I had to stop taking it because of the cough. I am asthmatic and also have a hernia so the Dr told me to stop taking it. I'm sure the constant coughing and choking sent the BP up a few notches anyway.

I hope you find an alternative.

My hubby was on it, couldn’t cope with the coughing and is now on Losartin, no side effects were aware of

I’ve been on Ramipril for 12 years nearly (various doses) not for BP issues but for a dilated cardiomyopathy, and do get the cough, it’s not too bad but does get irritating specially first thing in the morning. I take bisoprolol aswell so cant come off ramipril because it took ages to find a combination that works for me, so I just put up with it!
