Similar to Stan, we stayed at the Retreat at Champions Gate in 2017 and Storey Lake this year.
Personally we wouldn’t stay at Storey Lake again, I found the facilities weren’t as good as the retreat and the resort just didn’t feel as nice. The Retreat was awesome though, and for me, better located. RE traffic to the parks, using the I4 at anytime is slow, so we just set Google maps to avoid interstates and it made getting to parks much easier and journey times even smaller due to lack of traffic jams! |

Champions Gate is a lovely area, there are a couple of pools and a good sized lazy river as well as a really good clubhouse/restaurant. The only downside for me was the traffic on the i4 coming home from the parks every night. Shame because its a lovely community.

IHG Orange Lake resort was nice although it was 5 years ago since we last stayed there. We will probably stay there again as I have loads of loyalty points and you can get a 2 bed villa on points.

Orange Lake - Stayed here 5 times now. Great resort, huge.. and had 3 large pool areas plus several smaller ones all of which are free to use as you choose and set through 2 18' hole golf courses.
River Island is an 11 acre lazy river and massive pool/fun areas with slides at either end, each with a drinks bar plus a Starbucks, fast food outlet and shop in the middle. They've even got Coke freestyle machines and resort cups. Downside is you can walk/swim around the river area but if you want to use floats you need to purchase single or multiple day access wrist bands. Accommodation is more condo than villa, but huge.
