Did our 3 today after son’s new passport arrived. Authorised in about 25 mins - really impressed. Took me much longer to complete and check and recheck the boxes.

In my opinion no - but we have had live ESTAs since they were introduced.

Chances of rejection (if you don't rush it and make a careless mistake) are extremely remote but we're not the sort who try and scrape an extra holiday out of a $14 investment.

It's just another box ticked and out of the way if you do it now but there's no rights or wrongs.

The consensus of DIBB opinion over the past 11+ years is to do them 6 months out just in case they're rejected and you have to go the visa route.

Totally agree with Mick, Don't wait if you make a mistake, time to put right is essential. Especially with computers and auto complete.

Did mine today once new passports arrived we don't go till December 20th.

Mine is rolling, as soon as it runs out I get another one. For the sake of £10 ($14) every 2 years it's well worth it.

We go in April (well maybe) and I just did mine, usually it's straight through but this time it says authorisation pending.
I don't think I made any mistakes. When people are saying don't fill in API that's on your flight right? I filled in Disney for the address and contact in USA.
My API is always on file with VA so hope that hasn't de-railed things.
